Recap of my week so far.

This week, I have decided to pay closer attention to my nutrition and fitness goals, while still focusing on my running and marathon training. I started the week out with a cross train day. This consisted of an hour long gym session followed by a quick run to Costco and then a 6 mile bike ride to a local park where I ran a very large group of stairs with some girl friends of mine.
It was so beautiful out, with the sun shinning and a nice cool breeze blowing. Running the stairs however not so much fun. We made it 4 times up and down the big hill. Which pretty good considering we rode our bikes there and I went to the gym earlier .

So while I was at Costco, I got all the supplies needed to make oven fajitas to take for lunch the rest of the week. These are to die for and so low calorie. Delicious!!! Is and under statement! To make these all you do it slice up two onions, one red pepper, one yellow pepper , season with taco seasoning and lime juice and bake in the oven at 375 until the onions start to get soft. I pack one-two flour tortillas and the meal in under four under calories for lunch. Plus the flavor is so good you don't get tired of the taste.
This week I also started using a APP called My Fitness Pal, it allows me to track food diary, calories burned and remaining calories. This is a great app for me, since I did not realize how much I was truly eating in a day. I find the app very easy to use and resourceful. It also allows me to sync other app such as map my runs and Fitbit. Adding in all the calories I have burned for the day. It sets a weight loss goal for me and keeps me on track. So far I am loving it.
As far as running, I got my 3 miles in today after work. UGH!! I hate running after work, especially when I have to run at the gym. Which is what I had to do today since it was close to a 100 degrees outside. Ya, no thank you on running in that kind of heat. Tomorrow I have 6 miles that I have scheduled for me to run. I plan on going to work late and running the 7 in the morning. This will be a nice change up. Leaving the evening opened to going for a bike ride with the hubby.

Well another week of running has gone by and I continue to love it. Last week I ran a total of 23 miles with my longest being 11 miles. This was my second longest run next to my first half marathon. I must say that I enjoyed this run much more than my half marathon. I'm guessing that the huge hill in the middle of my run had something to do with it. :) The 11 miles I ran on Friday morning, left me feeling energized for the day. I felt great during my run, I prepared all my stuff the night before so that when my alarm went off I was able to just get up and go.
My banana and peanut butter was just the right combo to fuel my long run. I felt like I could just keep running. Which was great since I was running in the pouring down rain but I still went out and ran. I ran my 11 miles in a quick 1 hour and 55 minutes. HAHA, quick, yeah right
Look at this place, how could you not want to run if you go to run next to such a beautiful river. After my run I went home put on my compression socks to help promote good circulation in my legs. I then got ready for my morning at the spa getting a Mani and Pedi with my girls. Little did I know I would be spending the entire day there. 4 hours later we were finally done.
After getting pampered, the girls and I had lunch at a local favorite restaurant ,where I ate until I felt like I and to undo my pants. This was followed up with a nap and then a night of packing for the Light It Up 5K we were doing the next day in Ontario, Or.
The next morning we set off for our 5 hour car ride with team BAM and our running manager Bill. AKA Beeaalll. haha. Man what a great trip it was, I have not laughed that hard in forever. The run was a blast, with a PR for my girl Amber. This girl is on fire, kicking ass and taking names. I am so proud of the runner she is becoming. She truly is an inspiration for all women who don't believe they can get in shape. She is proof that you can.

Looking forward to more races with these with and the crazy week of training I have.
